Merced United Medi-Cal Play Program

Program Overview: Merced United is committed to promoting sport equity and ensuring that all community members have the opportunity to play and grow through soccer. Partnering with the Central California Alliance for Health, this program aims to reduce financial barriers for families on Medi-Cal and engage adult members in physical activity. The initiative supports participants in both our Merced United Recreational Soccer program for youth and our Merced United League for adults, reimbursing registration fees upon the completion of a sports physical. Enroll yourself or your child in our Merced United soccer programs, and once you/they complete a physical with one of our partnered health centers or other health care provider, we will reimburse the registration fees. It is important to note that your immigration status does not matter and is not affected when applying for Medi-Cal services! More information about applying for Medi-Cal can be found here The Alliance.

Program Benefits:

  • Reimbursed Registration Fees: A full refund of the soccer registration fee upon completion of a qualifying sports physical examination.

  • Health Partnerships: We have teamed up with reputable local health providers like Golden Valley Health Centers, Central California Alliance for Health, and Zócalo Health to ensure that your child’s health and fitness are evaluated, promoting a healthy start to their sporting activities.

  • Accessible Soccer Experience: This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to remove obstacles to participation and foster an inclusive sporting environment.
